5 Things That Make Cleveland Great
Ah, Cleveland the Land, CLE, and once home to King James. So many incredible people, businesses, and architecture make our city special. We even have a Great Lake! If you are considering a weekend visit or, better yet, moving to our city, we would like to share a few of our favorite places! Let’s explore what makes Cleveland great.
Culture
Music, art, and the theater are a unique part of Cleveland. The city’s theater district is the 2nd largest in America, NYC being number 1. Known as Playhouse Square, the area is made of – The Hanna Theatre, Mimi Ohio Theatre, and Keybank State Theatre. According to its website, Playhouse Square resident companies include – Cleveland Ballet, Cleveland International Film Festival, Cleveland Play House, Cleveland State University Department of Theatre and Dance, DANCECleveland, Great Lakes Theater, and Tri-C JazzFest.
Day Trips
The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is a fun day trip with friends and family. The Moon Jellyfish and Garden EEl are just two of their “New Residents”. Virtual events are also available –
- Freshwater Exhibits Encounter
- Stingray And Coastal Encounter

Art, history, science, and music lovers – we have some amazing spots for you to explore. The Cleveland Museum of Art, Great Lakes Science Center, The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and The Rock-N-Roll Hall Of Fame are delightful ways to spend a weekend.
Explore
The Cleveland Metroparks has acres and acres of hiking areas, beach access, and a Zoo to boot! Laced throughout the city and surrounding suburbs – these parks offer a wide range of activities year-round. Hit up the toboggan chutes at the Chalet in Strongsville in the winter, check out the spectacular fall leaves at the Hinckley Reservation, and take a summer swim at Edgewater.
The Zoo has everyone’s favorite animals, from elephants to monkeys. Seasonal events like Boo At The Zoo & Wild Winter Lights are something to check out if you are in town for Halloween or the Holidays.
Sports
The Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns. One thing you can count on win or lose, Clevelanders love to cheer on their teams! Baseball, basketball, and football are rooted in the city.
A new name for the Indians will be announced soon. With the past exciting seasons, we can’t wait to see who brings home the next championship. We are talking to you, Baker!
Downtown
With lake views, sports arenas, and the Terminal Tower, a visit downtown is a must. Spend the night in luxury at the Hilton, Metropolitan at the 9, or Ritz Carlton. Enjoy a fantastic dinner on E. 4th. Roam the city and take in the art installations, Public Square, or find your favorite spot!
