With Summer right around the corner, most of us look forward to finally spending time in the sun, and COVID-19 is making it only harder for us. After such a long dreary Spring, our outdoor spaces probably need to be freshened up. We have some great inexpensive ways to make your yard an enjoyable space to relax in this season.

Go Green

One way to make a big impact, with little spending, is by adding greenery and flowers to your yard. Hit up the discount shops and find flowers that fit with the layout of your home. Plant flowers or bushes that attract nature, like butterflies and hummingbirds. A great option is to pick out greenery that will return year after year.

Refresh Your Furniture

If your patio furniture is looking worn and tired, a new coat of paint can bring it back to life. Don’t be afraid to use bright colors! Mix and match to coordinate your outdoor furniture to reflect your personality and decor preferences. For a more traditional look, add pops of color with your pots, patterned, or solid outdoor pillows.

Add a Rug

Refinishing a wood deck is expensive and a hassle. Cover a multitude of problem spots with an outdoor rug. Today’s outdoor rugs are stylish, come in all different styles and colors. For a larger deck, multiple rugs add a contemporary and comfortable feel. Differentiate your patio into sections by choosing rugs that coordinate and define an eating space from the other seating areas

Water Feature

The sound of gurgling water is one of the most relaxing features one can have in their back garden. From a simple tabletop water fountain to a more elaborate water wall, a water feature is something that you will appreciate for years to come. For all of you that are super handy, check out some great water features here.

Light Up the Night

There are so many ways to add interest to your outdoor space through lighting. Lanterns have been on trend for a while now. Use real or solar-powered candles to add a romantic feel to your next evening outdoors. String lighting has come a long way. Whether you choose an Edison bulb or twinkling lights, the effect is warm and cheerful. Another fun way to incorporate lighting is to spotlight a favorite tree or landscaped area of your yard.

Flea Market Finds

Creating an outdoor oasis can be a fun and creative process. Check out your local flea markets or garage sales to find treasures you can make your own. Think outside of the box on how you can repurpose items that can become the highlight of your outdoor space.

This Summer will definitely be different than those of recent years. Having a spot where you can let the worries of the world go is a wonderful thing! We hope your imagination comes to life and that you have many good times outdoors! Have an awesome healthy Summer Cleveland!
