The 4th of July 2020 will look a lot different this year. Cleveland’s “Light Up The Lake,” firework show has been postponed until September. And nearly all city parades have been canceled. But most of us are still looking for options this 4th of July 2020. So let’s look at some fun things to do at home and what is happening virtually and around the city this 4th.
Light Up the Point
The show will go on at Cedar Point 4th of July 2020! A drive-up fireworks display is scheduled for July 4th at 10 pm, in the main parking lot. In addition to the show, guests can listen to patriotic music on 102.7 FM. The cost is $20, per car. Cedar Point will donate the proceeds to Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, The Sandusky State Theatre, and OH Go. Purchase your tickets in advance, no tickets will be sold the night of the event. The parking lot opens at 8 pm.
Party in the Backyard
If you want to stay in this year, plan a party in your backyard. Bring out the tent and set up the tv! Watch the fireworks from the comfort of home. Light up the night with sparklers, make s’mores, or a red white and blue drink of the day. Prepare for your friends and family by making/ordering patriotic t-shirts or face masks with their names on them. Bring your own style to your deck or patio with flag-themed banners, lights, and accessories for a wonderful 4th of July 2020!
Where to Find the Best Televised Firework Displays
A Capitol Fourth will air on PBS this 4th of July 2020 at 8 pm – 9:30 pm. This is the 40th anniversary special will be hosted by John Stamos and Vanessa Williams. Highlights will include performances by:
- Patti LaBelle
- The Temptations
- John Fogerty
- Renee Fleming
- Trace Adkins, and more!
A Capitol Fourth will also air a special salute to all essential workers for their selfless service during COVID-19 will be a must-see!
Macy’s Fourth Of July Fireworks will air on NBC on the 4th at 8 pm. This year New York will have small displays throughout each of its burrows. On the 4th, the footage will be added to a live display over the Empire State Building.
