The Metroparks

The beauty of the Cleveland Metroparks reaches a peak during Autumn in Cleveland. Well maintained trails around local beaches and parks are the perfect backdrop for Autumn’s splendor. The Metroparks offer self-guided driving tours at Valley Parkway from Scenic Park in Lakewood to Brecksville Reservation, Chagrin River Road between North and South Chagrin reservations, and Hawthorn Parkway between South Chagrin and Bedford reservations. Apple Picking and Pumpkin Patches

A wonderful Autumn tradition is picking apples straight from the tree, and finding the best pumpkin in the patch! For a lovely Autumn day near Cleveland, take a day trip to any of these special places:

 

Apple Hill Orchard is worth the drive because they offer 30 varieties of apples, in addition to peaches, cherries, pears, and plumbs! They also have a fresh supply of homemade donuts, local honey, apple cider, and much more.

 

Pack the car and head to Monroe’s Orchard for a fun day with friends and family! This lovely orchard offers apples, pumpkins, tours, and lots of fun. Their Apple Harvest festivals, on the last Saturday of September and the first two Saturdays of October, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, as they put it are a super way to “Make Memories”!

 

Mapleside Farm is a picturesque place to stock up on freshly picked apples. In addition to apple picking, another attraction is their Pumpkin Village with a corn maze, hayrides, a “Super Slide,” and “Jump Pillows.” Every weekend in Autumn, Mapleside has a theme. A few of this year’s themes are – Princess and Pirates, Johnny Appleseed, and Wild West Weekend.

 

Autumn Decor

Autumn in Cleveland brings out the creativity of friends and neighbors. From porches filled with brightly colored mums, cornstalks, and hay, to spooky jack-o-lanterns and ghosts for Halloween.
