COVID-19 SPOTLIGHT – Harvest For Hunger | CLEVELAND BRICKS
What Makes Cleveland Great? Community Support
We all need some good news these days, some way to connect while we are working from home and social distancing. We need to hear about the good things going on in our community. And Cleveland, there are some amazing people doing selfless work. Let’s learn about them together!
Harvest For Hunger
Harvest For Hunger partners with local community organizations, including the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. Last year they provided 22 million meals throughout Akron-Canton, Cleveland, Mahoning Valley, and North Central Ohio.
Many of the people that Harvest For Hunger campaigns reach have to choose between paying the rent, for medicine, or for food. The good news is that we can help! We can donate here, or assist at our local food banks.
Faith Based Organizations
Religious centers of all kinds bring hope and comfort to this community, and abroad. Kind everyday people give of their time and their means to spread joy, optimism, and love. Whether it is through weekend meals for children, monetary help with the bills, or a handwritten message, look to local places of worship for a helping hand, to volunteer, or to donate.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors
In the hardest of times little gestures go a long way. Communities all over the state are pulling together. Teachers are delivering food on students doorsteps, neighbors organizing teams that look out for each other, and random acts of kindness that will never make the news, but will never be forgotten.
It is wonderful to witness people bravely facing adversity with kindness and acts of service. When we join together we make our city and the world a better place. We wish you health and well-being Cleveland, we are in this together!
