Everything You Should Know About The NFL Draft Cleveland

The NFL Draft is coming to Cleveland this week! Football enthusiasts and those of us that are looking for something new to explore can look forward to many exciting events. The fun starts on Thursday, April 29th, and runs through Saturday, May 1st. So let’s take a look at everything you should know about the NFL Draft Cleveland.

 

The Main Event

 

The North Coast Harbor, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Great Lakes Science Center will hold most of the major events. Musical groups Kings Of Leon, Black Pumas, and Machine Gun Kelly will perform. Ann Wilson will sing the National Anthem, while some local favorites are also expected to make appearances. 

 

An interactive free area at FirstEnergy Stadium will be open to the public, and large screens will air the Draft for onlookers. The first-round pick goes to the Jacksonville Jaguars, with Cleveland in the 26th spot.

 

Parking Information

 

According to a report from Channel 8 news, here are the parking details for the NFL Draft Cleveland:

 

-Rt. 2 westbound from I-90 westbound will be closed at Dead Man’s Curve (DMC).

-Rt. 2 westbound exit to East 9th Street will be closed.

-Rt. 2 westbound exit to West 3rd Street will be closed (except for Emergency Vehicles/Port Traffic).

-The exits along Rt. 2 Eastbound into downtown will be closed (Lakeside/West 6th “exit 194”, East 9th “exit 195A”, and the Muni Lot exits “195B and 195C”).

-Both West and East Mall Drive will be closed throughout the event.

-East 9th from Lakeside to North Marginal will be closed.

-Access to Jones Day/Northpoint garages and Route 2 eastbound will be available from Lakeside Ave. only.

-West 3rd from just north of Route 2 overpass will be closed.

-Access (north and southbound) to Summit parking lots and County garage will available

“The Biggest Show on Turf: 55 Years of Halftime Shows”

 

A true highlight of the NFL Draft Cleveland is sure to be Pepsi presents, “The Biggest Show on Turk: 55 Years of Halftime Shows” on April 23rd through September. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame exhibit will showcase clothes worn by superstars and other props used during their halftime performances. Learn more here

 

Giving Back

 

The NFL plans on helping areas most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with a Draft-A-Thon. Donations will be raised for the following non-profit organizations:

 

  • CDC Foundation 

  • The Education Trust 

  • Feeding America 

  • Mental Health America
