Memorial Day is a day for every American to remember and honor the military veterans who have served our country. Cleveland is all set to host a variety of events to do just that and allow visitors and locals to make new memories.
From Memorial Day Parades to family-friendly activities, there are events you don’t want to miss!

Parades –
Memorial Day parades are a tradition all over the country. Cleveland and the surrounding areas will continue this tradition. Here are a few of the parades you might want to attend.
Police Memorial Parade – On Friday, May 20th, the Police Memorial Parade will begin at 10:30 on Lakeside Ave. and East 12th. A special memorial service will take place right after the parade.
Firefighters Memorial Ride – See the Firefighters Memorial Ride kickoff on May 29th, at 10:30 am. The starting point is at the Cleveland Firefighter Memorial and will continue with a full escort into Euclid.

Events –
Lakeview Cemetery – From May 26th to May 28th, Lakeview Cemetery is looking for volunteers to place the American flag at the graves of veterans.
Hikyoga – Enjoy a healthy Memorial Day with Hikyoga at Edgewater Beach. Start your day with forty-five minutes of yoga followed by a forty-five-minute hike around the Beach.
Berea’s National Rib Cook-Off – Beginning on May 27th and running through the 31st, head over to the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds to try award-winning ribs and live music. Free parking and admission for children 12 and under.
Cleveland Metropark Zoo – Spend a day of your holiday weekend at the Zoo! While you are there, make sure you see the new baby orangutan!
50th Annual Greek Festival – Fill up on your favorite Greek foods and beverages in Tremont, May 27th through the 30th.
Night Sky Viewing – Memorial Day weekend sees the return of the Geauga Park District’s Night Sky View. Peek at the stars through the Oberle and other telescopes throughout the property. If you are already booked for the holiday, don’t worry, this program runs until June 25th.
Baseball at Progressive Field – See the Cleveland Guardians take on the Kansas City Royals on May 30th at 6:10 pm. Save room for a hotdog! It’s Sugardale Dollar Dog Night this Memorial Day.
