Uncovering Best Places to Visit In Winter In Cleveland
Winter is coming, and this isn’t some Game of Thrones reference (although we’re super excited for the next season). With vacations, weddings, sports events, and outdoor activities to plan, you have no choice but to be careful and plan according to the weather conditions. But, we would like you to stop and take a look at how cold this winter will be for us Clevelanders. Especially if you’re on a lookout for best places to visit in winter. It turns out; there are about 70% chances of El Nino this year and winter might not be as harsh as you’re expecting it to be.
What is El Nino (What does it mean)
For about three to seven years, the temperature of the Pacific Ocean’s surface gets either warmer or cooler by 2 to 5 degrees. El Nino occurs when the temperature gets warmer. The counterpart of El Nino is La Nina, which is cooler. History shows that El Nino happens more often than La Nina.
So, it’s like this; it will be cold, and there will be snowstorms as always. But, the real questions are: HOW cold, for HOW long, and HOW many snowstorms – both region-wide and lake effect ones.
The previous major El Ninos in Northeast Ohio have resulted in little snowfall. Here is the breakdown:
In Cleveland, El Nino winters are notably warmer.
