With the days growing shorter, the kids back to school, and sweater weather on our minds, it is autumn in Cleveland. One of the great privileges of growing up in the midwest is experiencing all four seasons. We are lucky to have the Metroparks laced throughout the city and surrounding areas. So before those ghosts and goblins come knocking on your door, check out the best colors of autumn in Cleveland! Here are some of Metropark’s best spots to visit:

Acacia Reservation – 

Visit the Acacia reservation for over 150 acres of nature, a paved trail, and Euclid Creek. Soak up the brightly colored trees and fall weather while you can. If you have a special event coming up, the reservation offers a clubhouse with rental space. The park is open 6 am – 11 pm. Find a trail map here. 

Squire’s Castle –

That’s right; there is a castle in the Metroparks! Enjoy the beautiful fall leaves, pack a picnic, and take pictures to memorialize a wonderful day in the Cleveland area. Take your favorite people on a day trip they won’t soon forget to this special Metroparks spot.

Hinckley Reservation – 

Are you looking for a scenic area to relax, hike, or appreciate the fall foliage? Autumn in Cleveland is incomplete without a visit to the Hinckley Reservation. A paved path runs around a large lake lined with mature trees. You are sure to see a variety of leaves and colors at this terrific park! For those of you looking for an adventure, Whipp’s Ledges is nearby.

Berea Falls Scenic Overlook – 

Berea sandstone, tumbling waterfalls, and fall colors; what could be better than that! Breathtaking views abound year-round at the Berea Falls Scenic Overlook, but is there a more gorgeous season than fall? Soak in the sounds, scenery, and smells of the season before Old Man Winter rears his snowy head!
