With the holiday season upon us, thoughts turn to a winter wonderland in the city. There are many great Cleveland attractions in winter. The Land offers outdoor and indoor activities. We have fantastic restaurants, unique shops, renowned theatres, an amazing park system, and so much more. So if you are hosting guests this season, or looking for weekend inspiration, let’s take a look at some of the best things to do in Cleveland in the winter.

Cleveland Metroparks Winter Activities –

Snowshoe, cross-country ski, and hike in the Cleveland Metroparks this winter. If sledding is what you are looking for, head over to Barret Sledding Hill and take on the 200 ft. slope. The Metroparks offers more than one sledding destination. Here is a list of other sledding hills:

  • Miles Road Sledding Hill
  • Sledding Area at Kelley Picnic Area

Cleveland Public Square –

Exciting Cleveland attractions in winter are planned for Public Square. On Nov. 27th at 7:30 pm, the city will sparkle with an official tree lighting ceremony. Join in person for fun family activities, or tune in to WKYC Channel 3. Grab your ice skates and visit the Cleveland Foundation Skating Rink. The season runs from Nov. 30th through Feb. 28th. Carolers, a Cleveland Opera Theatre performance, and more are planned for the Rink and Speaker’s Terrace. Click here to find dates and times.

Cleveland Museum of Art – 

See master painter’s works of art, treasures from Egypt, knights in shining armor, and everything in between at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The Museum is open Tuesday – Sunday. 

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – 

Explore exhibits on the biggest names in the music industry. See stage-worn costumes, instruments, handwritten lyrics, and more at Cleveland’s own Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Hall is open seven days a week.

Greater Cleveland Aquarium – 

See over 1,400 freshwater and saltwater creatures at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium. Advanced ticket purchases are required. The Aquarium is open daily from 10 am – 5 pm.
