Kids enjoy an unexpected day off as much as we do. When that day off is a snow day then it’s an opportunity for double the fun. It’s a perfect opportunity to sleep in, have a relaxing breakfast and lounge around all day. But this is for the kids, so why not come up with activities that both adults and kids can enjoy on a snow day?

How about quirky new activities to get you and your family through the next snow day? We’ve come up with some great adventures for you and your family to enjoy on the next snow day.

Cleveland Aquarium

Greater Cleveland Aquarium has gotten better and better over the years. Plus, on a snow day, going to the marine life aquarium will be a hit with the kids. The upgraded version of the aquarium has much more to offer now and you can relax with the kids and enjoy the day out.

Ski at Boston Mills Brandywine

It’s a snow day, so it’ll be cold. Take advantage of that and go skiing at the Boston Mills Brandywine. Afterward, ward off the cold with a cup of hot cocoa in the lodge. Boston Mills and Brandywine, a few miles away from the Cuyahoga Valley, offers beginner group lessons for $25.

Go Sledding

Next up on our list is sledding. Just grab a sled, go down the Cain Park in Cleveland Heights and Linden Park in Rocky River and burn some calories running back uphill.

Play at Play

Sometimes all you want to do is have fun inside. When lazying around gets boring, you can take a trip to Play: CLE and have a go at their play spaces. One of the largest indoor adventure parks in Ohio Play-at-Play is a fun time, especially on a snow day.

Go Swimming

You can play outside in the snow and get wet and cold or you can go swimming at one of the city’s recreation centers. Splashdown the slides, relax in the lazy river and pretend it’s not 7 degrees outside. Or you can do both, it’s all about having a fun snow day!

Go out with your kids, enjoy the latest attractions that Cleveland has to offer. When the day’s over, go home, have a warm meal and sleep peacefully through the snowy night.
